The Worcester Fire Museum and Education Center will be a combination of a museum dedicated to the presentation of fire history in Worcester and the surrounding areas and a Fire Department Public Educational Center dedicated to arming children and citizens with the knowledge they need to remain safe. Dating back to the 1700’s, Worcester has had a rich history of the battle with fire. The museum will tell the story of what early citizens had to do to combat the threat that the new world was facing. From the early days to the present, the tools, equipment and some of the challenges have changed but the foe remains the same.
Located in the Education Center will be the office of the WFD Public Educators. The award winning WFD Public Education Division. They concentrates on teaching our children about fire safety and the elderly about risk prevention. I 90 person, state of the art classroom/ theater will aid in administrating many public education classes thought the year.
